This isn't the way to bring the franchise back to success. What’s needed is a film directed by Stallone—or another talented director (if the producers insist on replacing him). Expendabelles was scrapped the first time around because, according to those behind the project, there was no justification for an all-female team. There still isn't. It’s going to be a terrible failure that will only tarnish the franchise's image. I hope The Expendables gets back on Lionsgate's and the producers' radar. Stallone and the team need one last mission. Mel Gibson needs to come back, too; all it would take is adding a few scars and explaining that his team saved him before the building collapsed off-screen at the end of the third movie.
